Re: 65 corvair disc brakes
Depending on the kit . First thing I would do to a 65 is buy the dual master cylinder kit. Which makes front and rear braking independent and the corvair much more responsive on manual brak ing power.
Then when u have the kit. Front disks are the only upgrade you will need on a street corvair.

Re: Front speaker options without cutting up the doors?
I took out the Y split under the dash that directs the air to the windshield. Built a bracket that bolts up under the vents there and left the middle area open for heat run. Great sound and hiding place. I have not had the chance to drive the car with the need for a defrost. But there is an option

Re: 65 disk brake and drop kit project
Yes guys got to run the kit on my car all summer. Did. Not have any issues with the kit other than my stock springs are to weak I have plan on making a adjustable insert for the factory springs which will prevent a coil from being able to compress which should help me with my issue of rubbing the ...

Did this to my LM. Check out this topic and there is pictures of stock top ball joint with spindle machined at top ball joint to fit corvair. Re: ENTER- Corvair of the Month June 2014
Here is my corvair. I drive this car to my college classes any time I can. The car is a driver and if it breaks I fix it. hope you like the modern hot-rod look I did to attract new interest to the corvairs. I started the rebuild with the engine- heads are 140 that I port and polished with a DA and ...

Re: So much info, brain not big enough!!!
I have read and read and more reading with the electric fans. brad is correct. the understanding is that the corvair fan pulls air then flings it across the engine in a cyclone motion where a electric fan conversion only pulls air then forces in a downward direction. the way a conversion from stock ...

Re: Which Performance Mods?

Re: 65 disk brake and drop kit project
thanks Michael. The ball joint from Monte Carlo is much bigger. I used a hole saw and drill press then welded in a nee pipe for press fitting the new ball joint in.

Re: 65 disk brake and drop kit project
here is the car with the drop kit added and the disk brakes installed. I still have to get the suspension broke in for a few miles before I get the car aligned but I did take some measurements before and after the kit was installed. stock measurements for width on center tread was 57 1/4 new width ...
