Front speaker options without cutting up the doors?
I've only ever put speakers in the door for people, but there has to be another way, because I don't want to do that to my car. I already am planning to build a speaker box for the parcel tray. I am going to out an aftermarket setup in the dash grille, but I am going to want at least two more speakers up front. Kick panels are obviously out because of the fresh air vents.
Anyone one do something different than cutting up the doors?

You could run some small hidden speakers under the dash, and then run a subwoofer under the seat. Check out this setup....

There's a forum post out there somewhere with low profile speakers under the seats in small boxes. Thinking this is what I will do as I don't want to see them at all. I do like the post above with the subwoofer under the seat. I'd like to see those speakers hidden under the dash though.

I took out the Y split under the dash that directs the air to the windshield. Built a bracket that bolts up under the vents there and left the middle area open for heat run. Great sound and hiding place. I have not had the chance to drive the car with the need for a defrost. But there is an option

Clarks do a replacement twin speaker system which I am considering.

There are some very good (audiophile quality) Bluetooth speakers available now, may be a valid idea to non-permanently install one of those on the dash and play music off a smartphone? To help preserve period-correctness.

I'm not worried about period correctness seeing that my car is pretty custom from the get-go. I just don't want to cut up my doors.Yuppie Scum wrote:There are some very good (audiophile quality) Bluetooth speakers available now, may be a valid idea to non-permanently install one of those on the dash and play music off a smartphone?
