My (former) 65 4-door had an NOS set of door edge guards installed. I was never a fan of them, but they scratched the paint underneath. The door edge guards, plus the 2-tone top trim on the car was too much for me.

I've got one sitting in the garage, not being used. I could be enticed to sell it.

My prep:
I have plane tickets, but the real prep is thinking about driving the 29 hours, pulling the Flexi Flier to the Autocross.

Re: Tear repair ?
My 66 Convertible lived with a torn top from 2000ish until 2024. When the top was cut (to steal a cheap radio), Dad used weatherstripping adhesive to bond another piece of top material (top was basically new when it was cut) on the underside. The cut was visible from the top, but completely weather ...

Real Milk crates haven't failed me yet.
I keep my starters in the bottom drawer of a file cabinet, though.

Re: Replacement Cylinder Head Temp Gauge
You probably want stock...but I'm really happy with the SpeedHut cylinder head temp gage. Face is very customizable, can be configured to look (almost) like a stock gage, if you didnt know better.

Re: Should I make more 1965 140hp Full Bearing Throttle linkages??
Roger, I used a full set of your linkage on the last 140 I built and was very impressed with your workmanship and quality. I have never liked the GM linkage design and as the parts wear out and the linkage holes become elongated, the car is no longer fun, or safe, to drive. I would not only ...

Somewhere, I have an excel file where I recorded measurements of various late springs - NOS, used, HD, Clarks, etc...
I'll look.

Re: Help Identifying Wheels
Carroll Shelby Wheels sold a 13 x 6" version of the "Western Wheel/Minilite" style called the Europa. It was never available in any 5-bolt pattern. (As I recall). In the "olden" days, before litigation became so widespread, they happily sold me a set of un-drilled Wheels. I had them drilled to 5 on ...

Missing the '69 140 dipstick, right? Shouldn't it have the tall-handle one?

Re: Things you did to your Corvair you later regretted
I pulled every bit of the heater system out of my old autocross car (also, street legal) - every bit. Regretted it on those cold autocross mornings, when I couldnt keep the windshield clear, even with RainX anti-fog on the glass. Looking for a new solution for the next autocrosser. Eric P. DeWitt, IA

Re: Nash Fan Carburetor Linkage
I agree with Ken.
Your 'relaxed' state of the linkage is too upright. You should be tipped more towards the rear of the car, at rest.
I've got a Nashfan, and pulley and I'm not even close to contacting.
