Re: RecessBilly's Worklog '63 Spyder project
Is the sender for the overheat light new or very old? Old sensors can drift and come on too early. Was your engine pinging or operating out of the norm when the temp light came on? The sender was used, and I didn't do a test to see when it comes on. There wasn't pinging, but it was stumbling a bit ...

Re: RecessBilly's Worklog '63 Spyder project
Got a Flip2 from JBL and really dig the look and sound. Easy to operate while driving too: http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e77/pinkbilly/Snapbucket/Corvair%20Spyder/IMG_20160604_173749345_zpsz7mmd4kv.jpg After replacing the O-rings and doing the rocker adjustment, it's running really well and not ...

Doing the pushrod tube o-rings now. Not that bad of a job when you get into it. http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e77/pinkbilly/Snapbucket/Corvair%20Spyder/20160602_173407_zpsmgmaaa44.jpg http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e77/pinkbilly/Snapbucket/Corvair%20Spyder/20160602_1734231_zpsjhh8bl9h.jpg All...

Re: RecessBilly's Worklog '63 Spyder project
^Thanks Brad! It's a subtle amount of flair that adds a ton of character. And can be easily removed. I'm loving this thing like crazy. I know I've been a Corvair enthusiast, but now it's more of an obsession. I finally met another Corvair owner in my town, too! He's got a Greenbrier that he's owned ...

Re: RecessBilly's Worklog '63 Spyder project
Over a month since an update, as I've been busy and family stuff came up. I have been driving and enjoying this thing immensely. Rebuilt the carbs a plethora of times and finally understand them. Car has been running great but gets hot, I realised how important the rubber perimeter seals are and hav...

Re: New fuel Tank-Gas POURING out of left carburetor
Float needs adjustment, or needle and seat are no longer sealing. I would just rebuild the whole carb while you're in there.

Little rich still
I have done a ton of reading, tore apart and cleaned the carbs and rebuilt them multiple times with new gaskets/ needle/seat and now it is running really well on one side, but rich on the other. There isn't gas dripping from the venturi, so where does the excess gas come from? I inspected the plugs ...

Re: Carb blowing gas into motor from overflow circuit
I found a leaky float. Fixed the flooding issue, but there is one carb that drips gas from the venturi at idle. is this normal, or an issue of the main metering jet needing attention?

Carb blowing gas into motor from overflow circuit
Hey, I'm having a little issue with one of these carbs. I've rebuilt and taken both them apart a ton, checked and rechecked float level, new needle and seat, but I still get a ton of gas leaking from the top or overflow into the carb. Floats are not leaking either. I did bypass the manual fuel pump ...

Re: RecessBilly's Worklog '63 Spyder project
Been real busy snowboarding, but I finally got my vent windows done. New rubber and channels. Studs broke off the window frame when trying to remove them, but I got a different spring and made it work. http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e77/pinkbilly/Snapbucket/Corvair%20Spyder/IMG_20160331_090326153...

110hp motor and carb spacers
Did all 110hp motors in '64 come with the spacers between the carb and the head to avoid heat soak? I don't seem to have any.
Thanks!!
Thanks!!

Rochester carb question
My car is a '63, but the motor is a 110HP from '64. I'm unsure if the carbs are from '63 or '64.
How can I verify the carb years to buy the correct rebuild kits? Thanks as always!
