Re: LM Brake Drums...

Just checked NAPA site and the part number for the Chevelle rears and the Corvair fronts is the same.

Gen/Fan light issues in LM

This is a 65 Monza issue. The speedo didn't work (separate issue) so I got a used cluster and swapped the whole thing. All was well until the gen/fan light stayed on when the key was off. I could hear the voltage regulator de-energize when I disconnected the battery so I assumed that was the issue ...

Re: new from Green Bay

I'd rebuild the carbs. I just went through this with my 65. I put off rebuilding the carbs - hoping it was something else but NOPE! Very very simple job to rebuild them. Buy complete kits from clarks and take your time. Best advice I got was do one at a time so you have a reference point if you get ...

Re: Piece of shroud missing

Thanks for the quick response. You confirmed my suspicions. I already made a flat backing plate to force all that air back under the shroud. The engine compartment feels cooler already. I'll check out Corvair Ranch. Thank you again.

Piece of shroud missing

I was just working on my 65 110 Monza and noticed that the big 4" air hose was not connected to the engine. When I went to connect it, I found the piece on the right front of the shroud where it connects was missing and just blowing air into the engine compartment. I think the piece may be called ...

Re: Not So Disappointed!!

An old saying when I used to work around the CanAm cars, It wasn't cubic inches that won races, it was cubic dollars. Everything depends what your goal is and how much you can afford to throw at it. Both are mutually important concepts.

LM trunk caulking suggestions

Most of the caulking in my trunk has come loose and needs to be replaced. Is there a consensus of what should be used? This is a 65 Monza convertible that is a daily driver not a show car. Its all the stuff smeared along the seams in the trunk.

Thanks

Re: carb id and accelerator pump cup help

I just replaced both of mine on my LM which were mismatched also. I would agree wholeheartedly with Brad to get a set of matched pumps. They are not particularly expensive.

Re: New gas tank

I used rustoleum rubberized undercoating on the exterior of the tank for some added protection. While I had it out, I took the opportunity to clean and undercoat the entire area that the tank sits in.

Re: Starting question

Well, I avoided rebuilding the carbs as long as I could. I don't know why I thought it was going to be more difficult than it was. When I took the Left one off, and opened it, it was full of dried gas residue . The accelerator plunger was missing the cup and the little brass plungers were stuck ...

Re: Starting question

No compression done but no, it starts right up with the shot of starting fluid. All cylinders looks the same when looking at the plugs. All of them are wet

Starting question

I had asked a question previously about the choke on the right bank being pushed rather than pulled. Problem solved as per the recommendations, let it warm up - solved the issue. Now another issue. I replaced the gas tank - it was full of dried gas that came out in large chunks!!! New fuel sending ...

Re: Choke issues

Thank you for all the help. It is the right one I suspect as being bad. Ive been soaking the choke rod coupling in blaster before I start twisting on them.
