IMG_4077a.JPG I have a small collection of Corvair thermistors for sale, prices are plus shipping.
No. 1 This part came from a early 1962 prototype Spyder engine that was installed in a car that did not have a temp gauge, so it was never used. It is in 'like new' condition and very accurate. It ...

Re: Should I make more 1965 140hp Full Bearing Throttle linkages??
Roger, I used a full set of your linkage on the last 140 I built and was very impressed with your workmanship and quality. I have never liked the GM linkage design and as the parts wear out and the linkage holes become elongated, the car is no longer fun, or safe, to drive. I would not only ...

Re: Measuring Engine Case Hydraulic Lifter Bores - Lost a Tool
I had a similar problem many years ago while building a 180 turbo motor. The crankcase came from one of my friends who took very good care of this motor however it broke a piston and he put in a new motor. I was very careful to check all the bearing clearances, including the camshaft.

Re: Corvair Lies, Myths and Facts
According to his autobiography, Lee Iacocca, ("father of the Mustang"), developed the Mustang to compete with the highly successful Corvair Monza, which he incorrectly thought had a 4 cyl. engine like the VW. I've always thought the 1964 Mustang was a Falcon with a redesigned body.

Re: Identifying Oversize Cylinders - Salih vs. Howard vs. ?
Attached is a photo of a Salih cylinder. They were available in 3 9/16" and 3 5/8". The larger cylinder required opening up the bore in the crankcase. The fins are aluminum.

Re: Aluninum cylinders
I have had some experience with blown cylinder head gaskets in the past so I've been doing some research. I have replaced many studs over the years and have a large collection I have saved. I started measuring the length of the used studs and have found something that might give us a better ...

I can assure you that the 3VX560 is the best belt to use on your Corvair. I have run that belt to 7500 rpm repeatedly at Bonneville without a single failure. I wasn't aware that the 3VX560 belt was available as automotive use only. I buy mine from NAPA and it says "Industrial Belt" right on the ...
