Battery in Front?

i was wondering what problems would you run into moving the battery up front, i know DC voltage decreases as it runs through wire, the longer the wire, the lower the voltage at the other end, so do you have to run a bigger battery if you mount it up front?

Probably wouldn't need a bigger battery, though it would bennefit from oversize cables with machine crimped or soldered terminals (no clamp on types).

Bigger battery will be no help. You must use larger diameter cables to get good current flow to starter in the rear.

Why move the battery?

Unless you plan to seriously race the car often, I would instead choose to put the time, effort and funds into more beneficial things (but that's just me).

yeah i know, i have more important things to spend my money on right now, i was just wondering, i figure if i have the battery and the spare up front, that's a fair amount of weight off the rear and on the front, But i don't know if it would be enough to tell a difference in handling or not

Use a small battery. A garden tractor battery will work.

There is a new technology that is about! There is a new battery technology that basically allows for you to run a pack of 8-12 c sized rechargeable batteries as the main battery! It recharges off of the cars stock charging system and weighs in at just over a pound or two. It is also about the size of a small tuperware container. You can make one yourself with stuff you can buy on ebay, or buy one ready made and integrate it.

As you can see most of the stuff is motorcycle based, but it can be adapted to cars. A 12 cell set up would be enough for a car and should last years.
