F/S 1966 Cord 810 in F/B...not mine
I don't believe I've ever seen one of these for sale.
It would be nice if seller posted an engine picture.

Within the past year, I was a Red Glen Pray 8/10 advertised on either Craigslist or e-bay (I don't recall which) that was one of the 97 cars built (That number includes six prototypes).
After Glen's production ended, another firm built 13 additional Cord 8/10s before the redesigned SAMCO Cord was introduced. The redesigned Samco version was rear wheel drive and offered a V8.

This is related to one of the few Samco built cars with the Corvair drivetrain.

Here's a few photos of a Cord 810 taken at a Rainbow Oaks meet:

Really good engine picture...thank you Chet.
Anybody got pictures of an 8/10 up on a lift?
Like to know how the heck did they steer it?

If I recall, steering was similar to 1966 Oldsmobile Tornado.

Yet another turbo showing up with a Powerglide. Interesting.

Powerglide with a turbo motor certainly can be done.
Put a one way check valve upstream of the modulator.
Use an HEI distributor (more fire) with a 5-pin module.
Trigger ground for the 5-pin with a 4 psi Hobbs switch.
The 5-pin retards timing up to 7 degree when ground.

No big issue with "turbo and powerglide", when you're custom building, the sky is the limit. On the check valve, couldn't you just hook the vacuum modulator hose UPSTREAM of the turbocharger?
Now my big question: The engine compartment picture shows the engine with the bellhousing / flywheel end of the engine facing forward. How are they connecting to the drivetrain? A special mounting plate to connect to a "regular" transmission?

The car is front wheel drive so the whole drivetrain is just moved forward.

I will have to do some digging for photos, but I powerglide and efi swapped a 140 4 speed one about 5 years ago.
They are extremely homemade looking underneath. Handling was absolutely terrible and the ackerman angle was way further out of whack than anything I had ever driven, steering it was horrible. It was kind of fun as a stock 140/4, but the powerglide ruined it a lot and the holley sniper completely took away any remaining thrill, IMO.
I remeber having to service front cv and wheel bearings and researching parts, they used citroen front wheel drive knuckle assemblies and outer shafts. Steering box was long shaft Corvair.

For comparison, here's one that just popped up on ebay. IIRC, only 14 Corvair powered Cords were made by this company.

That appears to be the one I mentioned earlier in this thread. I did however get wrong when I thought it had been one of the Glen Pray cars when it appears it was actually a Samco built car.....Dennis66 wrote: ↑Sun May 04, 2025 9:54 am For comparison, here's one that just popped up on ebay. When I was doing a search for the powertrain, I saw some pictures of this same car. It is a "no expense spared" restoration with the Corvair powertrain completely gone through (140 HP engine). Still, 27K vs 11K...
Nice looking cars.
