That seat belt engine mount has got to go! Curiously, I see a real engine mount sitting near your spare tire mount.

You're correct! The engine is gonna be dropped out once we clear the garage for it, but the rear part of the body is damaged, so the engine mount will have to wait until we get some bodywork done.

In the meantime, gonna pull the carpet out tonight, it's moldy.

I really want to get to pulling the motor out though, I've done so much reading on it and I really just wanna see it in pieces. I love mechanical stuff and ugh it's so hard to wait!

While it's outside still, anyone got a good place to find a new drivers-side quarter panel? Most of the tricks we know won't probably work, so we're in need of a new quarter panel for the side that got hit. (Also a door, but I might know where to look for that.)

I'm sure you're aware that it's not a bolt-on quarter panel, but all welded unibody construction. Replacement will be a big project. Clarks has a left fiberglass panel for a convertible, some differences: https://ssl.corvair.com/user-cgi/catalo ... w_page=194

Yeah, I'd rather not use fiberglass though, I'd like the car to be as correct as possible.

How far forwards? I need it towards the door, side impact is too far in to just hammer back into shape.

Oh poop!!!!! I forgot, I also sliced off the lower rear section, under the battery tray, to replace major cancer in my project. Everything else is good tho. Not sure how much you need....

I did send Connor a PM, and I will post some pics of the inner part of quarter panel this evening. I have heard that there is a cheap way to ship big items through Fastenal. A hardware company. You are kindof at their mercy for timing, but i heard its alot cheaper. Havnt tried, but you may want to inquire at a Fastenal outlet near you. There is one here in Fresno.

Better call Fastenal. Last I checked they weren't shipping cross country supposedly due to the China virus. Hopefully that has changed.
