Re: What Vehicle Did You Get Your First Traffic ticket In?
1936 Dodge 4 dr sedan….no license, no registration, no insurance, no muffler, no plates, no vehicle inspection. State Police. $100.00 fine in 1959; next Police didn’t show up in Court, Judge dismissed ticket with the understanding that I quiet the straight pipes on my 1953 Hudson Super Jet with spl ...

Re: Hemmings Corvair Restoration
I look at the “rebuilding” of the 66 Monza as kinda fun, not depressing however it does get into “scheckles” a bit but the progress is rewarding as the improvements improve the process towards a very reliable auto. Having done the 65 cvt, I knew what I was getting into so no big deal.....I really lik ...

Re: What is the age range of Corvair Fans? (POLL)
Oh well being in the 76+ group isn’t so bad..... I’m still standing and even after stage four cancer, I have something to look/plan/enjoy my 66 Monza coupe. Had a 65 Monza Convertible a few decades ago and it was fun to drive and a good chapter with folks who also enjoyed their vehicles. Now if I can ...

Re: Hemmings Corvair Restoration
The fun(?) of getting the kinks out of any vehicle is in the “doing”. One learns a lot about the so-called quirks of a model while undertaking said journey. My 1966 Monza sport coupe, as I found out had issues with the brakes, carbs, and shifting (4 spd)...do not buy an auto in the dead of winter wit ...

Re: Ventura County Corvairs
I have had two Monza’s the 65 was a cvt, 110/pg and the 66 is a spy coupe 110/4spd. Vin 105376w117470; I am retired from SacMetro Fire and also USCG. Not sure when we will get to Simi Valley this fall, selling house here in NY, too big and 4 acres too much...3/4 acre and 1100 sq ft will do fine. My w ...
