Re: My New to Me 65 Vert / Project tracker

So I've had the cars at a few shows and the trunk is bothering me with its condition. I know I could just leave it shit but then I miss all the kids asking where the engine went! Right now it has some sort of paint that is cracking in places. Other places have a black coating of some sort ...

Re: Fuel Tank Removal & Installation

I see Clark's calls filler neck hose as special size. Does anyone know what size it actually is ?. Is it same size for all the year / model apps or is the large diameter different between models?OR what is diameter of metal fill pipe? I want to do some research first before I say why I'm asking?

Along similar lines what is max BS for a 15" rim to prevent rubbing?. I know aspect ratio of tire can change this somewhat.

decode a trim code?

I have a body tag which I have been able to decode using the various decode lists on this forum. There is a lot of very good info in the list. However, I am stumped by a single trim code for a '65 Los Angeles built Monza. The paint code is DD for blue mist poly and the charts says that Los Angeles ...

This is a terrific build and a great looking car but I have 2 questions!

Re: Lower balljoints popped out

Ross,
Thanks for the clear answer. All is clear: should be a tight fit, measure, use good shop practice and don't start banging on things. :) Will first start cleaning and painting, as the whole suspension is out, and assemble later.

Re: Lower balljoints popped out

Roelof.
I get it now you are talking about the ball side of the joint. You are right it shouldn't pop out easily. I would double check to make sure its the correct ball joint. They should be press fit depends on style some are nut and bolted(or riveted or screwed in as you say) in with plates on ...

Re: Lower balljoints popped out

When disassambling the front suspension of my 66 the lower balljoints popped out of the lower control arms. The balljoints and rubber boots are good, but don't seem to be a really tight fit in the control arms. Any ideas? What are my options?

Thanks,
Roelof
