We have already checked it up and the Heavy duty starter fits. The old starter we used was rebuilt from two different starters, the original 60-version and a newer one. The aluminium housing was also welded. I think that explains mostly why it broke ...

Thank you for your answers! I got the problem solved. It turned out that the point gap that was the problem. The car is running nicely now. I'm waiting for some new tires and when I get them the car should be fit to take for a proper test drive. Will post some updated pictures in time.

Thank you! I like the color of the car too but I still have to repaint it. It's not the original color and it is very damaged. The rear lights are not original either.

Thank you. Haven't had time to check the breaks and there is a bit rust under it that needs to be fixed first. But after that I will drive it. :)

Finnish Chevrolet Corvair 1960

Hello everyone,

As promised here are some pictures of my 1960 Corvair. Got the engine running today for the first time in 25 years and fortunately it run very well. Just going to repair the body now and then it should be fit to take for a ride! :)

The starter was broken but I repaired it and now it's working fine.
