Re: MY Dumbest Corvair Moment
Not a 'Vair moment but crazy. I had a lifted rock crawler S-10 with solid axles. I was parked on a typical suburbia sloped driveway. Didn't have a parking brake. I had to pull the driveshaft. Forgot the wheel chocks. I was underneath. Luckily there were no cars driving by or parked cars.

Re: 16 inch IROC wheels
To fit these I'm guessing you have to put on the metric studs to get them to fit right. Do you just need to drill the hubs and brakes out? Or is there something else?

65 V8 LS/Porsche conversion-Can you help with some Q
Hi guys, well I've already done an intro, and I've found a shop to do the work. I'm currently in Afghanistan, cordinating and researching. Inspired by Mr. McCreery's LS conversion, I chose this combo due to cost, though it's beginning to look like that if I did many more HP mods, I would be almost ...

Re: Yet another V8 build-not Crown or Kelmark
Yeah, I had thought about doing what you said about the fuel cell. Was considering a hood scoop to act as an intake for the radiator with the output where the old tank is. Would probably cut up a secondary hood for testing. And I wonder just how much cooling pipes running under the car offers? So ...

Yet another V8 build-not Crown or Kelmark
Well, after recently buying the car, I've done research and found someone who will make an adapter. I was inspired by Dr. Mcreery's LS1 Corvair. I will be going with an LS4 (5.3) with a 996 transaxle. Main points: cost. compactness. The LS4 is one of the more compact of the LS motors. A half inch ...

HP rating of rear suspension/bearings/etc.
Hi, as I posted in my intro I'm planning to do a V8 swap on my corvair. I've got the trans thing worked out, but I'm concerned about the stock corvair drive axles, bearings, control arms, etc. My plan is to adapt "american" flange-type u joint couplers to the porsche output flanges with crossover U ...

I recently bought a '65 Monza from a gent in S. Cal. Beautiful condition car for a great price. Well, that is I'm in Afghanistan and the pics looked great. I'm having shipped to my place in Rancho Cordova, CA. It's been a CA car it's whole life so I'm not too worried about rust, etc. Praying the ...
