If been using R152a (Dust-off spray) for quite a few years in several older R12 or R134 vehicles. I only have one vehicle still using the propane/butane blend. I do my own A/C work if you haven't guessed.

Re: Dwarf Car Musem in Ariz. Amazing workmanship.

Cactus Corvair made several trips there in 2015 and 2018, along with the Tucson Corvair Association crew. The museum is about halfway between Phoenix and Tucson.

Here is a photo for scale. My wife is not a tall person.

Re: Front left suspension jammed in compressed position....

I had a similar symptoms with my 87 Subaru where one front strut would compress and then not extend for hours. It would do it intermittently at first but then almost every bump would lock it in the compressed position. It would very slowly return to the correct height if you weren't driving. A new ...

Re: Help Identify Corvair A/C Components

Are these the add-on drive pulleys for A/C? Here's my thread about the various add-on pulleys offered for either A/C or the A.I.R. smog system. I few posts down this same thread you will also see the one-piece dual pully used on engines that did not require a harmonic balancer, mostly for the 61-A ...

Re: LM 4D Door Edge Guards - Who Here Has Them Installed?

There's been a glut of that LM 4-dr trim on the market for years. Cathy's 65 Monza came to us with the door edge trim installed long ago. I don't mind the look of it but I certainly would not risk paint damage to see how it would look without it.

Re: Help Identify Corvair A/C Components

FYI...There is an 8 page thread over on Corvair Center that has details on some of the more obscure or lesser known A/C components. It is mostly LM stuff but still could be helpful during your part identity quests.

Re: Show Us Your Prep For Next Months 2025 CORSA Convention

No prep. This will be our first CORSA convention ever but not taking a Corvair. We decided to work as volunteers so Cathy and I signed up to help at registration, the hospitality room and the road rally. The only event we signed up for is the Hearst Castle tour on Wednesday. This will be a wedding ...

FC Receiver Hitch -DIY Starter Kit Interest?

I made a custom receiver hitch for my FC last month and several people have asked if I would sell it as a partial kit with plans so they could build their own like I did. The only part that takes some time to make accurately from scratch are the end plates that attach opposite the existing bumper ...

FYI...If you notice a few changes in the last few replies here, I edited several posts in the thread to remove bad info and hot links from a now banned account. It was an AI bot that was posting ad links . Members where quoting the bot's replies including those spam links so I cleaned that up too.

Re: WTB: Vega Steering Box

If I had only known then...

I sold a manual NOS Vega box just a few months back. It was found in a Corvair parts stash I bought a few years ago and was misidentified as a Corvair part. I looked it up and put it up for sale and got $280 for it from a Vega owner back east.

Cnicol here has a new electric fuel pump kit that has just about everything you need. I HAVE NOT tried Craig's kit, but many have and so far all positive comments. See his post -- https://www.corvairforum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=146597&hilit=cnicol#p146597 I have installed several of Craig's ...

I bought new spares of each of those back in 2014 when they were around $20 each. When I retire, I'll sell them for an insane profit. ::-):

Thanks for the clarification. Due to the A.I.R. (SMOG) system parts and pump I'm guessing.

Nope. Only factory A/C cars placed the spare tires in the trunk.
