Is it single phase 220 or 3 phase?? A friend just gave me a Linde mig welder.. The power supply is model V-205.. The wire feeder is Linde model number SWM-22.. The only problem is it's 3 phase 220/440.. Do you think this welder would work on light duty sheet metal if I wire it to 220 single phase?? The three heavy wires coming into it go into an electro magnetic contactor.. Coming from the out put side of the contactor it has three wires that are no heavier then covair tail light wires.. One red, one black and one blue. It says it draws 19.9 amps on the data plate The fan in the welder says 117 v single phase.. The wire feeder that plugs into the power supply says 117 v single phase So it seems to be changing it some where anyway. I was thinking of putting the red and black to one side of the 220 leg and the blue to the other side of the 220 leg.. What do ya think will happen??? :dontknow:

Everything I own is single phase...building a 3 phase converter is vairy doable.

Try going to the Linde website for an instruction manual and/or schematic to go single.

We rewired my Dad's Miller 3 phase TIG/stick machine that way.

For sure worth what ever it takes...Linde's are excellent.
