Just Found LM 5 Miles from Home

Post by gpracer89 »

Just down the road(s) from me, ran across this 1965-'67 Monza. Neatly hidden behind a garage. Looks like it has been there a while. A bit rusty, but the rubber plug area on each end of the rockers on the passenger side very solid. Looks like a 110HP and Powerglide. Is that luggage rack factory or aftermarket? Looks real sturdy!

I have to agree! (If it is cheap enough it may find a new home!)

It really isn't too bad (what I can see). There are some small rust through spots in the passenger fenders. The drivers 1/4 is dented and rusted pretty bad. The carpet is gone & the passenger seat is pulled back. There is a .50 cent piece size whole in floor. Motor was complete. Not bad for a what I am guessing is a life-long West Virginia car.

Look under the dash and under the back seat. Those are usually the first areas to go on a LM Corvair.
There are LOTS of areas for potential rust on a LM.

Yea underneath my backseat was probably where most of the rust was, I actually just removed my back seat all togeather, ordered some new bucket racing seats and now she is a two seater, keep all my tools behind me now
