Wow, original paint. I bet that's an interesting car up close and personal, I'd like to see it. Something's gotta be wrong with the springs man....lol. Either they're the wrong ones or they're not seated properly. I have had that problem in the past. In fact I have a car right now that has one spring that isn't seated properly and I just haven't fixed it yet. It sits about an inch and a half higher on that side as a result.

No, I checked. They are all the way into the pockets. I think 62's where nose high.

From the factory they were supposed to sit up higher in the front to account for luggage in the trunk.

Here are the body design specifications from the GM Heritage Center records. I have attached the full specifications for the 1962 Corvair for your information. Page 3-8 of the 1961 Shop Manual addresses riding height and coil spring sag checks.

She looks great. If it were mine, I would cut those springs (but that's me).
How did the public react to the car at the show? Were there any other Corvairs there?

It was the only corvair there. Older guys say don't cut them, young guys say slam it. I also had my 65 GTO there, so thats all i hurd about.

I say do what feels right to you .

Lower may improve fuel mileage , sensitivity to crosswinds and overall handling .
I also had my 65 GTO there, so that's all I heard about
Yeah - Goats are cool - I had a 68 vert in high school .

But our poor Corvairs are the Rodney Dangerfield of cars -- " No Respect" :dontknow:

I have a 62' and she currently ride nose High, as Veteran Young guy springs will be cut, not to drop her in the weeds, but close. Both Front and rear

Looks gorgeous just as she is.

I like corvairs in original stance, even though I have always been a fan of lowriders of any ilk. Maybe I'm getting old.
