kind of need a quick answer...

Post by Honda750Guy »

the gear shifter on my 64 corvair 3 speed is slack, something happened to it after the last time it was towed when i moved. what is going to be the most simple way of getting it into neutral to show an interested buyer / restorer that it runs?

I suppose that you could crawl under with a pair of vise grips and manually shift it into neutral. You might have to remove the cotter pin to disconnect the shift tube from the transmission to accomplish this. Finding neutral would be a process of trail and error tho. :fingerscrossed:

Yes from underneath finding neutral should not be too difficult
