anyone give any thoughts into mounting an electric motor in the back seat of the corvair, creating a custom clutch system. the idea i had was to make a custom PTO shaft that extended off the transmition input shaft , which on the corvair is located directly behind the back seat.
the project would be only be great for showing off but it would creat the posibility to have in-town driving under electrical power and highway speeds would be powered by the corvair motor.
Anyone have any thoughts about a project like this?

Re: Dual energy corvair
I have been bouncing around the idea of using my super cheap and broken corvair for an all electric project. Alot of ideas and projects of other cars (and motorcycles!) are floating around the net. Done a bit of research the last couple of years on the electric bikes aswell as cars, the systems are similar. requires certain parts for most all electric vehicle applications (diff motor case to case, but all of the electronics and speed control and charging are the same). I would love to see some custom mounts for electric motors, also utilizing the trans...

hello all,
welll time to spill the beans, the idea i had was to find a electric fork lift that is still has good electronics on it. as i mentioned i would have to create a custom mount and custom clutch housing but if you ever opend the front side of a 3 or 4 speed 66 newer transmission it would be fairly easy to construct a custom PTo shaft there.
