Lovin the story and Best-O-Luck with the trip
Thanks !
Here's a pic of the trailer that I bought . I'm not really sure how the tilt works on this one . It's not hydraulic. I did opt for a spare tire . I 'm picking it up in Tacoma .
I chose to sleep in the tent again because the staterooms are small and double occupancy and over 100 bucks a day .
The rear camping deck is steel . If you look closely in the pic in the post above you will see that all of the tents are held down with duct tape because there is no way to use stakes . I bought the wrong kind of tent -- instead of being self standing like most dome tents mine was made to use stakes to hold it up. You will see that I'm right by the rail as I'm tied off to it to get some support. The tent was laying down on top of me most of the time.
There is a heated solarium with lounge chairs to sleep on but no tents are allowed in it . Note the yellow boundry line that most of the tents are bordering .
Along with the restaurant , snack bar and lounge there is a theater and also panoramic indoor seating for viewing the scenery. It travels thru the inside passage so we will always be in sight of land and mostly in calm protected waters.
Many people consider the ferry ride to be the dream of a lifetime but I've lived in Alaska most of my life and it's kinda "old hat" to me. I get a kick out of the tourist tho - if somebody spots a whale everyone rushes to that side of the boat to look.
Here's a few more pics from last time . It looks pretty much the same all the way to Washington.
