Rear wheel hubs

Post by my65 »

I want to rebuild my spare 65 hubs and install them in my 66 next year. Every thing is the same except, 🤔 the bolts that hold the covers for the universal joint. Why?? Can I use the 1/4-20 or do I need to retap hub to 5/16-24 and open up holes in cover?? :dontknow:

You can install the 65 units. You will need to have the smaller hole u-brackets for the U-joints to attach with and of course proper length and hardness 1/4x20 bolts and lock washers. The 66 and up are a bit stronger but I have not seen 65 ones cause much if any issue.
