Rear wheel hubs
Rear wheel hubs
I want to rebuild my spare 65 hubs and install them in my 66 next year. Every thing is the same except, the bolts that hold the covers for the universal joint. Why?? Can I use the 1/4-20 or do I need to retap hub to 5/16-24 and open up holes in cover??

Re: Rear wheel hubs
You can install the 65 units. You will need to have the smaller hole u-brackets for the U-joints to attach with and of course proper length and hardness 1/4x20 bolts and lock washers. The 66 and up are a bit stronger but I have not seen 65 ones cause much if any issue.
