Got a Set of Clark’s Ultimate Exhaust, now what?

So a Corvair friend passed away and I was gifted a brand new set of Clark’s Ultimate Exhaust by the family that he had sitting on the shelf.
I was excited to have recieved them until I saw what looks to be the older design headers that people have complained about that don’t seal well.
Am I correct about that? Is there a proper way to seal them? I really want a new set of headers on my car unless I’m going to have an issue with them in the long term.

They don't look like Clark's to me, Clark's have a tapered flange to fit the donut.

Yeah that’s the new design, I’m pretty sure this is the original design. It uses the same exact mufflers and tri-bolt flanges that mount the mufflers to the headers.

I have used the old/ original design many times in the past. I used 1/4-20 nuts as a wedge to balance the pressure placed on the donuts during tightening.
And to level the headers relative to the engine so they fit well and looked good in back. Don't remember having a problem during use. But setup takes some time. Give it a try.

Ok cool, that’s good idea. Where exactly do you put the 1/4-20 nuts?

Install the headers on engine with new donuts on the exhaust tubes. Tighten nuts on stud until you
have the fit you want between the muffler and body. Then experiment with spacers you have available on the flange to maintain the header to body gap when tight. You mat not need anything. But you may need 3/8ths or more. Patience will get you the results you want.
