Alternator Brace
I'm looking to change from generator to alternator on my Corvair. I have the main engine mount, but could someone post a photo of what the smaller brace looks like. I don't know what I'm looking for. Thanks

Re: Alternator Brace
This should do it. Let us know if you have any further questions...
These diagrams show the original wiring and the modifications needed if you are using an original 1965-1969 Corvair style alternator and external voltage regulator. The wiring modification would not apply if you are using a later GM design alternator with an internal integrated electronic voltage regulator...

Re: Alternator Brace
Keep in mind that unless you are using the stock externally regulated Corvair alternator and its associated regulator the stock brace will not bolt up. When making an internally regulated alternator conversion you will need to make a rear bracket that is similar but not the same (longer the way I clock the alternator) as the bolt hole in the later internal alternator is in a different spot.
Corvair guy since 1982. I have personally restored at least 20 Vairs, many of them restored ground up.
