Stud replacing
Stud replacing
Just put on my new style 5 bmw rims and my rear studs are too short. Can I just bang out the old studs with a big hammer do have to take the hub off was also thinking of picking up some one inch adapters. Would the adapters solve my problems? Any help would be great.

Re: Stud replacing
I had the same issue when I out Iroc rims on my '66. Rear studs would only engage 3-4 threads on the lug nut which wasn't enough to make me feel safe. You can drive out the old ones pretty easily with a big hammer, I threaded a lug nut on to keep the threads from getting mashed up, 2-3 whacks will pop them out. I used a Dorman replacement stud and slid em in, about an hour to do both sides and have the wheels back on.

Re: Stud replacing
I would need minimum 3/8 longer or 1/2 would be ideal
