Okay, just looking under dash trying to diagnose the fuel gauge issue I noticed an interesting ...well, I'll let the picture explain (please see image).

What am I looking at? It's clear the green pig tail is connected to purple but currently not anything else. Additionally, all 4 other wires have been opened. Is this a "hot wire" from the past? Possible someone doing some electrical trouble shooting?

Scarily enough, it looks fairly recent?
Any thoughts?

Yeah, trying to imagine "oh crap lost my keys" now what...."

The extent of my hot-wiring experience is on film where a guy rips two wires from under the dash and touches them together and viola!
Either way, I have some electrical taping to do!
