Ok i didnt have anyone to help me out today but i did have a compression tester, only tested 4 cylinders 3 had no compression, one had 30 lbs. hmmm kinda thinking its got something to do with the timing gear or cam itself. I guess im going to have to pull the engine. first time pulling a corvair engine, besides the obvious of unhooking wiring harness and all that junk, where should i start? ( havent taken a close look but i plan to start tomorrow) probably can figure it out but it would be nice to have a good idea before jumping in.

Been doing some shopping around, looks like my price list is going to top out at 794.84... wasnt exactly planning on doing everything but i guess i got carried away, why do it half way now if im just going to have to do it again later. Gonna start collecting parts a week at a time. kinda a bummer when this was my daily driver haha gotta bum a ride from people to get around.

doing everything is oke, than it is done and you ccan ride for years again, fixin 1 thing now and next month you may fix it again do not work. The gear looks verry wornout :-( hope the rest is more oke !! good luck with ordering and collecting parts (like a early christmas whoooie) and putting it back together.

Ya It probably bent the valves. Not sure yet though, Im gonna buy a pair of 150 heads from Jimbo though, so all new valves are on my parts list. Also decided while I've got it out and apart I'm going to put a new clutch disk in. It's not too bad but I'd rather not take it apart again anytime soon

It's a bit of a distance, but Michael Leveque (spelling?) does noce 5 angle valve grinds, I think... there are a few vendors who can do those heads right, hopefully you have the cash to invest in them.

Ive got a friend who used to do offroad VW racing and the guy who used to do all the work on his engine offered to help me out with mine. He's a corvair guy and has down quite a few. I've seen his work and I like it, so hopefully he can do a good job for me. Well see I guess

Stock bore for 61-69 is 3 7/16 = 3.4375

Thanks! Guess I gotta get a more accurate reading, 3.45 isn't exactly a normal amount to oversize I guess haha
