Engine shipping
Does anyone have the weight of a 140 engine for shipping purposes?
Re: Engine shipping
With things I've shipped and had shipped, prices varied greatly with different carriers. They go by weight, footprint and height. If you have something that cant have anything stacked on top of it, some carriers will penalize for that. If it isn't on a pallet of some kind, then it'll be harder for them to move. If nothing can be set on top then the space it takes is the footprint to the top of the container. I shipped a pallet at 480 lbs and got bids from $300 to 700. You must figure wheither it will fit on a pallet, and what the weight of pallet and engine will be.

I had an engine shipped up the east coast for nothing. I found a car hauler that was delivering a car about an hour and a half away. It fell together and tha person who had the car shipped allowed me to store the engine Thierry for a couple days so I could pick it up. Not sure how rare this case is. ![](//cdn.jsdelivr.net/gh/twitter/twemoji@latest/assets/svg/1f937.svg)

That's about right on the weight.. probably a bit more with whatever it's crated in. Who have you guys used to ship with? Especially Rafman and Michael since you guys probably do that a bit more than the usual.

Zach,
I sent you an email, I found an engine close enough to pick up. Thank you for all your effort. John
