I began my body work in the trunk. the floor had rust holes. I cut a metal sign and covered the floor with it. after some bondo and sanding away rusty areas, I painted it. I prepped and painted the wiper grill with rustoleum apple red to check that color. It is quite close to what I want. perhaps a metallic paint yo give it a little sparkle.
We had 3 days of hard rain in MD. I extracted a pint of water from the carpet. replac ing weatherstripping around windows and doors should fix it. The vert top could use replacing. The window is fogged and cracked. the inside is polka dotted with mildew. I have it on that looooong list of to-dos.
the next project is to build a carport before winter and snow comes. My wife won't give hers up.

Re: just getting started
Dave, sounds like you have some work to do. Rust is a terrible thing, and have had to make those types of repairs before. One thing you should know is that Bondo, is basically talc powder in a plasticizer that not only is NOT water proof, it absorbs water. Using it around the edges of patch panels or over pin holes in rusty metal is not a very good idea. In a year or so, it will bubble up from anywhere water can get to it.
