pics of new race car

Post by mlevair »

The white and blue one is where I want to be and the one on the trailer is where I started and there is one where I am .

It looks great - I really like the widened rear fenders !

Is that glass or metal ?

This car is all steel. The rear fenders are widened 2.5" and the fronts are flared in front of the tire. I also tubbed the rear inner fenders.

I am sorry for the size and quality of the pics I am better with steel than I am with a camera. The idea behind this car was to recreate the car my Dad raced in the 70's (ys160) so it may not be as up dated as some cars out there but I think it will be as fast as my old yellow car. Heres a couple more pics.

Looks great. Where did you find the solid car to begin with? Keep the pictures coming.

We need to get Warren to give us details of the car and it's features and racing results.

This car went to the scrap yard early in its life and was bought by a friend of mine many years back. I bought the car several years back to do what I am doing now but divorce and job loss forced me to sell it. I bought it back last year and it was sitting out , the weather had really taken its toll but it was still usable. My plan is to have it done for the workshop in March.
Here s a couple more pics the car has the same rear wheels in both pics so you can see how much the fenders have been widened. Thats my girl friend sanding on the car what a way to break her in.

Man, oh man is it going to be a battle at the convention this year between David and Michael. This car is very reminiscent of David's new one - which makes sense as I know Michael consulted on the rear fender swell. Sure does look good!!!

Nice picture of your Dad's old car! Where'd you get it? It REALLY reminds me of one my dad took at IRP back in the Seventies.

In the original YS-160 pics, what is the function of the two HUGE pipes running inside the cabin?
