Thank you

Post by Fastmpj »

Hey Y'all! Just wanted to say thank you to all of you. I've been lurking and going through old posts for a couple of months now since I acquired my 61' back in November. Since then I have learned how to identify what I have and for the most part, how to keep running and happy. Since reading up on your posts I have learned tuning my carbs( they need a rebuild), tracking pesky wiring bugs ( ive got some low voltage coming out of my starter switch at the dash) and I know I'm running a LM 110 under the hood. You all have helped me so many ways so far in the life of a Corvair owner. There are many of you that share your knowledge...Motohead Dave, Brad, Steve, Kevin,Phil, Scott,...and many others who make owning and driving these little gems so much fun. Anyways, thanks guys!

No Kevin, thank you. You are a awesome historian, your videos are so very bitchin'! I've learned so much from them! When I figure out posting pics from my ancient iPhone, I have a pic of my aunts rolled EM. It's the source of great debate because she swears it's a 60' and the pics say it was a 62' (taillights) and the wreck was in 70'. And yes Brad is amazing, my travels often take me to South Carolina, and I hope that one of my trips give me enough time to zip across to N.C and maybe have a cup of coffee with Brad and see that beautiful Vert.

Brad (me) is something of an old fart Corvair Forum addict! I worry that I spend too much time on the Forum, and when I look at the number of posts I've racked up since August 2012 it scares me!

 It is a good excuse to skip mowing the lawn or to put off doing the dishes. Sometimes I seem to prefer working on the Corvair Forum to working on my own Corvair, but I'm trying to balance things out a bit and to find a life outside of the Internet.

But the people who share their expertise in historical documentation, mechanical repairs, bodywork, racing and performance tuning, and just routine Corvair ownership and maintenance have somehow come together into a truly helpful system of knowledge sharing and encouragement that is helping Corvair owners throughout the world. Scott Howey started something here that has grown into a support and sharing system that is truly remarkable. Regular contributors, new owners, experienced owners, professional mechanics and body technicians, etc. all seem to find a role here that makes Corvair ownership and repair a lot better for everyone.

:ty: Thanks for the positive feedback. It is rewarding to hear that we are doing some good.
