I just have to say, I seriously like wheeler dealer. Hands down the best car show out there. Those guy are no BS car guys. They do what normal guys would do, without a bunch of non-sense.

One of my favorite shows as well...I really liked the "Trading Up" episodes where Mike traveled the globe flipping cars. It was cool to learn about the different car cultures in each country he visited.

I don't know... I miss Ed when I watch the Trading Up series.

I watched the show.................sort of. Dore is a fairly well known customizer............but what an asshat !!!!! The attitude was simply over the top. I will not watch it again, that's for sure.

I also enjoy Wheeler Dealers. Ed seems like a car guy who you could enjoy a beer with. I still like Chasing Classic Cars as well. My friend who had his Bonneville car at Pebble Beach in 2010, said that Wayne Carini was a very down to earth car guy.

Watched it with the wife. She rolled her eyes at the "Vagina Car" comment. As everyone else has posted, I was not impressed with the production. It follows a cookie cutter "reality T.V."script, that is old hat and over. I am tired of producers ramming their version of relationships down our throats. I guess I could vote with my remote...and I think I will.

On a personal note: I thought it was "yawnful" how they referred to the Corvair. The car they finished was okay...could have done so much more with it.

I believe that show will die a quick death. My 2¢...

I'm still hoping that one day we will see a Corvair or two on Overhaulin'. I would love to see Chip Foose and his team take on a few classic Corvairs! I would even donate my 1966 Corsa to the cause!

Discovery
It would have been nice to have had the producers of Lords of the Car Hoards invite CORSA members from the surrounding area to bring their Corvairs to congregate around the filming location. The resulting exposé of real classic Corvairs would have produced something positive the audience would have remembered about Corvair aficionados and enthusiasts, and would have set a high bar for the builders on the show to emulate in their Corvair restoration efforts. The profits from having such a focused group of potential buyers on site to possibly purchase engines, cars and other Corvair components might have produced a more effective and efficient "redistribution of wealth" from one Corvair hoarder to the Southern California Corvair masses.



I also hope that the producers of Car Hoards and perhaps a few network executives will read through some of this Corvair Forum commentary to get some feedback from classic car enthusiasts. With an almost-all negative reaction, they might learn something from this small, but focused group of critics.

Those guys did not do a bit of reading on the corvair the show was junk it just turned every kid that might of been interested in getting a corvair off thanks junk television show

Question: If Rick Dore is one of "one of the best" customizers of our time why doesn't he have his own shop?
Answer: Rick Dore is a has been half baked customizer living in the shadow of great one's like the Barris brothers, Darryl Starbird, the Alexander brothers, Pete Chapouris, Gene Winfield, Chip Foose,The Ring brothers, Jimmy Shine, & Larry Watson to name a few. All of whom could take virtually anything and make it look cool geese look crazy George Barris like his style or not he has created some of the coolest rides out there, having met George as well as some of the others mentions throughout my career a good designer/builder looks at the unusual such as a Corvair and views it as a challenge. Being a metal fabricator by trade the workmanship shown on the chop job was enough to make me puke. Its the kind of work that would have gotten me fired when I was an up and coming non television car builder.
I am not a Corvair guy as some of you know, I am building/restoring rescuing my wife 63 from the junkyard. I curse the car everyday but I accepted the challenge a daunting one I must say and I will add my own touches to make it what I consider cool but not retracting too much from the car original design.
As far as crap for brains comment about it being a "Vagina car" I'd like to take either one of those posers for a ride around Laguna Seca in a Yenko stinger. If a god in the muscle car world such as Don Yenko thought the Vair was cool enough to give it his own special touch to make it one bad ass ride what does that say, oh and why wasn't one of the most well known car collectors in the world and Corvair owner Jay Leno even mentioned?
