I sold this car to J Miller and he moved the wheels to another LM. They were not my first choice but I got them at the right price. Under 400 for wheels and tires. They are Konig wheels, I forget the model. 18x8.5 if i remember correctly. 215 35 front and 225 45 rear.

I thought BMW wheels had a slightly different bolt pattern. Did they bolt right on?

BMW uses a 120mm on 5 pattern, while the LM Corvair uses a 120.65mm (4.75") on 5 pattern. They are very close, but not exactly the same. I have used this pattern before without any issues as long as the hub center fits correctly and you use a cross pattern when tightening them.

Don't have the measurements, tire sizes, or even the make/model of the wheels handy... but at least the pics will add to the variety. If anyone wants details PM me for them. I'll try to remember to add the basic info when I get a chance.

The center's say ELITE wheels, I bought them used. These are 15x7's. I really like them but want to eventually get a set of Torq Thrust or Torq Thrust II's in 15" to replace them. These will then probably go onto the 65' when I sell it. I have second thoughts once in a while though, I've wanted Torq Thrusts for as long as I can remember, but they are kinda common and these are different =).

I know these aren't super impressive, but they'll do for now. They're 15X6~15X7 chrome reverse wheels from Summit Racing. They were fairly cheap and I couldn't handle the stock 13's anymore. Oh and I've kinda been on a "Two-lane Blacktop" trip with that Harrison Ford '55 Chevy look. I like them, they don't rub and I'm happy with them for now. I might even put some little Corvair dog dish hubcaps on them later. Or I might even get some wider ones later.....who knows?

If I remember correctly the same car that was first in "Two Lane Blacktop" (in primer with a home made hood scoop) was prettied up and painted and then appeared in "American Graffiti" with Harrison Ford at the wheel =)

Not sure if you knew your two '55 Chevy references from two different movies were the same car!

I like your wheels a lot, and I think putting the little Corvair hubcaps in the center is a fantastic idea.. I might get a set of those wheels and do it myself in the future now that you sparked the thought =).

These 14" chrome wheels and baby moons came with the car. I would usually go with stock rims and whitewalls but I like the way these look. Please excuse the dirt, my hose won't reach the driveway :(

Hey Grymm.....that's cool! Just FYI, I'm not positive if that center area is the absolutely correct size to pop a small Corvair dog dish hubcap onto. It may be a little too big, I'm really not sure. I don't have a dog dish hubcap handy to check either. But anyway, yeah.....here's the link to the wheels from Summit. They're called Wheel Vintiques 64 series for $118.95 each. To tell ya the truth, I've got a feeling that that center area is sized from an old Ford wheel. I could be wrong.

As far as the '55 Chevy.....to tell you the truth, I've never even seen that 2-Lane Blacktop movie.......just American Graffiti, but I think I've heard, yeah, that both movies used the same car. Very cool simple "down to business" look. :assault:

66 Crown with 93 Chevy S10 wheels. they were 15x7 as I recall and used 215/50 rear and 205/50 front ( I think 215's could fit the front as well but I was chicken).
