According to the book about this car (entitled "41 Out of 49") it was dismantled after it's racing career in the 70s.

It was raced in the Australian Sports Sedan series, was basically a full race Corv8 car. Very successful. More info here:

..I read some of the info on the car and the front suspension got my interest; the '65-500 could use a major re-build,may be too rusty to be my best option..looking at all the IFS kits in Speedway cat, wondering if one of the weld-in sub frames would be close enough to the Corvair unibody frame rails..

..I have an ebay search running for 'transaxle',and it's found a NEW Hewland F/S..it's *only* $20,000,but it's a start--anyone with DEEEP pockets??

Now that is funny......a Corvair owner with Deep pockets. :rolling:

My pockets are deeper than they used to be simply as a result of the holes at the bottom. :banghead:

..I'm talking with 2 banks now,trying to combine a first and 2 equity loans at 1/2 the % rate I'm now paying,maybe I can add a "few dollars more" on..<gg>
