Question about '64 spyder

Post by tekwyzrd »

Does anyone know what the width from the outside edge of the tire on one side to the outside of the tire on the other is? I'm trying to arrange to have the spyder hauled and may have found someone with a trailer in the area but the distance between the fender wells is 76 1/2" but the overall inside width of the trailer is 90"

The track on an early vair is 54 inches so you should have no problem with 76" between the fenders . I found this info in the Media section ::-):

Found this site .

I love my new 18' tilt trailer !

Yep, it fit fine with plenty of room behind it for the moter and trans assembly and the second motor. I got lucky. Towing companies wanted $40 hookup plus $2 per mile ($194 total). Car haulers wanted $325 - $485. I got the '65 hauled from DC for $410 so there's no reason a 77 mile trip from Conneaut to Cleveland should cost as much as hauling from DC to Cleveland. It cost $125 to have the car and motors transported the 77 miles in the enclosed trailer. The guy that did the transport is about mid point between the origin and destination.
