Location? The assembly might be reasonably priced, but shipping is a killer!

Now, taken apart to get in two boxes might be better? :dontknow:

This seems to be your first post here. I pulled a black column and black/off white (two tone) refurbished steering column from my 66 and replaced it with a telescopic unit. The removed unit has cleaned and greased lower bearing, stock repaired/painted steering wheel, new turn signal switch, and the ONLY correct 66 turn signal lever made by Roger Parent.

You didn't say where you are at. Shipping a steering wheel and column is NOT easy and probably expensive. I am asking $60.00 if YOU PICK IT UP! Dismantling and shipping a lot more! See pic.

I am leary of this first time user name.

1. User name ends in a number, which can be generated by a computer and it keeps increasing up 1 digit, each time they use it on any forum.

2. Looking for 66 part. When someone usesa number in the user name, it is usually user name with model year of their primary Vair. This one doesn't even come close

Good luck.

Agree --- I see the poster is also SELLING A Corvair. Probably phishing for pictures they can use to SELL items. Buyer beware as they say.

I figured maybe someone else might be interested so no loss in posting a reply. A buddy got to the point he won't ship a thing without receiving payment FIRST. No doubt as the economy declines we will see more "scams" online. I have gotten TWO online requests for financial information from really expert looking phony sites last week! I DO NOT REPLY, but called the companies main number and was told "No we did NOT send that email. Do not reply or click on link".

JUST BECAUSE YOU ARE PARANOID DOES NOT MEAN THEY ARE NOT OUT TO GET YOU :rolling: :rolling: :rolling:

So it looks like I was not getting notifications, thanks for the replies.

I am in the Cleveland Ohio area, I anticipated shipping unless was lucky enough to have someone respond in reasonable driving distance.

To get the shipping cost to be reasonable, probably have to ship in 2 boxes, one for the wheel and turn signal lever and one for the column. The boxes would not be big or heavy.

Let me know your approx location and how to contact you and we can go from there.

Thanks Again

I think the forum policy is you have to make so many posts before you can PM, or get a PM and notifications. You don't get notifications from just posting -- (Maybe I'm replying to a BOT, it will be interesting to see where this goes).

ANYWAY --- Yes two boxes to ship. I'm in S. California so you can go figure shipping, but frankly I expect it to be over $100.00. I got a part all ready to go for Wagon Master, then ZIP I never heard from him again. So if you want the parts I have you'll have to pay first including costs to box up items THEN I'll get them ready to ship.

MC1657 -- I got your PM and replied. It occurred to me you should call Jeff at the Corvair Ranch in Pennsylvania. Not too far from you so you might drive there. He has a huge stock of used parts.
