List of Botnames used so far Since January 1, 2025

Here is a list of new members, since January 1st, that appear to be Bots. Seems this forum is being targeted by the Bots due to easy registration process. A number after a first name seems to be an indicator of BOT registration.

You might notice quite a few have a web address of newmine craftservers. . It is not a secure site, some address have the http/s in the web address though. They post a statement on the site "Creative Craft Network – Build, Create, and Explore! Join our Creative Community Today!" It is a game site.

I have removed all the site extensions and added spaces to the web address to prevent any address from showing as a hot link.

If anyone is not a BOT and just has not posted since registration, let me know via PM and I will correct this list.

I am not very literate when it comes to computers and programming BUT....I am curious if there might be a way to require a new participant to first post in a newly formed " Introduction" section before being permitted to post anywhere else.

My reasoning for this is that it seems most of these new first time posters reply with generic answers to questions then are more often than not, never heard from again. Requiring a post as an introduction would then serve two purposes, one to help weed out "Bot's" and the other to learn a little about a newly registered participant.

I don't know if there is a way to accomplish this or not but thought I would make the suggestion....

The guy who monitors the Pinto site I frequent say he rejects far more applicants than he approves. Two things to note there, one someone monitors new applicants and two the rejection to approval rate says a lot, now doesn't it!

On the AMC Forum you have to post a number of times (they have a points system no one can explain) before you can post pictures. So, at least some of these forums have controls on certain aspects.

But, yea, these bot are getting annoying and they are diluting the information with at best generic if not inaccurate information. Would you let a 12 year old teach your child/grandchild under the premise that in time they will get better? And "better" is subjective to what is right and truthful and did AI get that correct???

We have a robust anti-spam software already which is why we can run the site without any captcha requirement for registration. This ai spam is relatively new so the software has some catching up to do. The good news is every time I mark a new one as spam they cannot get back in and the software gets better.

I just went in and blacklisted China, Hong Kong, Poland (where the new bots were from), and Russia.
That should eliminate the bulk of them now.
