Shipping my Corvair

Post by Gasman63 »

As Ive stated in the past, my Corvair is in CA at Dads house. I live in CO. Ive checked into what it would cost to fly to CA, rent a uhaul truck and trailer to haul the car home. Ive looked into renting a vehicle and driving there, picking up a trailer and drive back.

I dont want to drive my SUV that far as it has 180k miles on it and is my only transportation. Cant afford to have it die along the trip.

When i take my time into account the most logical way is to pay a transport company to haul it for me. I know that i have to deal with a broker and they list the car and location of it on a site then transporters will offer to move it. Ive gotten prices from 850 to 1450. A very wide range.

Has anyone gone this way? Any opinions or advice you can share? Maybe a brother-in-law that can haul it for me? Lol.

Thanks for any pointers you can send my way. Im looking to do this in the Spring
Im just trying to do my homework first.
