I'm no stranger to decoding VIN numbers, I enjoy looking at VIN tags on vehicles and finding out what information the numbers hide, but on my 1965, from my '65 Rebuild thread, I've discovered an inconsistency; My VIN number is beyond the production statistics for 1965. The whole tag matches up, being a 1965 Corvair Monza Coupe built in the Willow Run plant, but the VIN states that it's car #249117. CORSA's website states the number was 237056, and Wikipedia, with it's inaccuracy, states 247092. Am I missing something, or what's happening here? - Pics provided below
Also: Is there a specific website to find a guide for trim tags? I'd really like to do it myself but I don't know what the letters indicate. Thanks.
