FROM THE WORKBENCH OF LARRY CLAYPOOL: Powerglide Transmissions

Post by bbodie52 »

This excellent video was released by CORSA and Larry Claypool earlier this year (Apr 30, 2021). It is fairly long at one hour and 51 minutes, but I just watched the entire video and I was never bored! The target audience is the average Corvair Powerglide owner who routinely performs maintenance tasks within the range of the DIY "Shade tree Mechanic". It answered many questions that I had as a recent Corvair Powerglide Monza buyer, and it also answered questions that I did not know enough to ask! If Larry Claypool offered a series of 2-hour Corvair seminars at an annual CORSA convention, I believe they would be "standing room only" and very popular as well as very informative and valuable! I believe they are planning more of these YouTube video presentations, and I look forward to their release!

 :whoa: :helpsos: :neener: :omgosh: :beavisbutthead: :jawdrop:

:pop:  Here is something I found on YouTube that to me is SCARY! I've never seen someone dismantle a Powerglide with a hammer and an AIR CHISEL!

Gary and I are dismantling a 110hp Corvair Transmission.,, As you can tell, Gary is very knowledgeable, and well... I'm still learning.

PLEASE - tell me this was a junk Powerglide and you were just separating the metals to sell to a scrap dealer! Oh my gosh..., light a stogie and get a BIGGER hammer..., no..., Air Chisel!!! Turn your heads Children of the Corvair, - Don't Watch!
