Melted Tail Lights for Sale

Post by erco »

Ebay seller description for $80 (shipped) lenses: 2 of the taillights have heat damage to the lenses. Was apparently parked close to a fire.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/294381112879

The non-melted ones have cracks & chips. Housings are crap. No bids yet, does this guy actually think someone will pay for this junk? There is no way to repair lenses, right?

Yup people who wither think Corvairs are rarer than hens teeth and that any part should be worth a mint, or people who prey on such people post crap like these ads. I have a stack of used late model vent window assemblies. I will let them go for 1/2 that...LOL. Seriously if you needed some they would be reasonable not ridiculous.

Sure buy one from Clark's for a few bucks and then sell it for a grand....LOL. even $9.99 would be way too much since Clark's get $2.00 or so.

You never know what you might see. I just saw a LM vent window assembly for $150. Pictures are mediocre but pitting is evident anyway on the inside and crazed chrome on the window surround itself. Apparently many people think if they have a Corvair part it must be worth big bucks. If I had that vent window assembly (actually have a number in similar condition) I would be happy to get around $25 for it...LOL.
