Long time lurker finally joins

Post by byynow »

I've been harvesting info from this forum for several years, but it's time to sign up in order to ask some specific questions. I do appreciate the knowledge I've gained. Thank you all.

I'm working with a 1964 Monza Spider, which sat in a field in Santa Rosa CA, from 1982 until 2007. At that time it was removed from the field and sent to a "body shop", minus the engine, for floor repair and a paint job. I took the engine for rebuild. In 2018 The "body shop" claimed it was done with repairs and the car was transported to my place in NV. The work performed by the "body shop" rates between fair and poor, but I think the car will be roadworthy. The engine is back in and running but much finish work remains. Many parts were in boxes when the car came to me so it has been a bit of a jigsaw puzzle. I will have some "where does this go" and "what is this part " questions. I look forward to more learning.

Welcome and good luck with your project. For sure get yourself an Assembly Manual and Shop Manual, really helps in those cases you didn't take it apart.

I have the shop manual (60-63) and the 64 supplement. No assembly manual. I'll have to locate one.

Welcome to the forum! Yes, some of the assembly can be daunting to a newcomer. Post some pics!

Here are a couple of pictures. I've been working on it for three years, in between other projects. It's coming along.

Huh, I'm not sure why the pictures came out sideways. Actually, I'm lucky I figured out how to post them!

No worries. When you click on each pic and they open up bigger, they're correct, not sideways.

Car looks really good....

With bright yellow I figured I will be easier to find when I get lost.
