VIN

Hello, Forum

I am the new owner of a ‘63 Monza convertible.
1963 CORVAIR
Monza 900 Convertible
The “VIN” says 30967W262182
I understand that the last six (?) numbers refer to the sequence of production. Mine says 262182, but only 254,571 were made! Please explain. Thanks!

The count starts at 100,000, so theoretically the first built of the model year would have a VIN ending in 100001. And yours would be the 162,182nd built that year.
