Hi there. I've read previous posts with lots of great info about the wiring of tail lights and signals, etc.. My case is a little interesting because I have an Ultravan with a Spyder dash and wiring harness. A couple years ago when I got back from the ranch, I noticed my right brake light and turn signal did not work. Bulb was fine, no power to socket. I replaced the turn signal switch. Left tail light and signal work fine. Now, finally getting around to diagnose the issue, with little experience, I'm kind of lost on how to trace and get to the next steps. I did trace a point to where it appears there is a plug in the engine compartment with 2 brown wires coming into it, that seem to be for the brake lights. When I unplug it, the left one does not work. I only seem to get power from one of the 2 prongs. Not knowing exactly what color wires would be coming from the dash is making it hard for me to continue the trace- are there certain colors of wires from the spyder harness that are for the right and left brake lights? I'm just not finding something that looks like it's there for the right side. Not sure if this is enough info, but if anyone has any thoughts, I would appreciate it! I'm about 2 afternoons of getting this baby, MABEL 334 out on a little test drive.

Well, as always seems to happen, I think I found the problem. I found a plug in the engine compartment that seems to be the issue, or at least somewhere between the plug and the socket. I was at least able to find the plug that has the GREEN wire for the turn signal/ rt brake light. (the left one is black/yellow) Now to further diagnose!

I had a Spyder where that rubber side of the plug was molded wrong inside and the wires were touching. Made it do stupid things.
