Re: CORSA BOD playing games on the CCF?

Just because two terms fit someone doesn't mean either are OK by themselves.
So I guess if I said someone was a murdering pedophile you would assume I was ok with either one but not both? Illogical. You know that isn't how the English language works.

Re: EM - Axle rubbing on A-Arm opening

Be careful. The holes in the Powerglide the mount bolts to are fragile. I've had them break off.
Did you do a sanity check on your calculations with a tape across the tires?

I don't know those numbers by memory but I do know the Junkyard Primer has them wrong.

Re: EM - Axle rubbing on A-Arm opening

Not related but I noticed your throttle rod is really bent. Maybe if you straighten it you will have a visual clue to the front height. It should exit the tunnel centered and be parallel to the ground.

Re: EM - Axle rubbing on A-Arm opening

Worked for me.
The front of the engine does look low for some reason. The side seals should be flat.

Re: Compatibility

Yes. Be sure to use the '62 flywheel bolts too since they are longer than the PowerGlide bolts. Be careful with the bolts. They are an oddball size and the heads are thin. You can grind the end off of a six point socket to get a full bite on the heads. You'll have to use a lot of the '62 sheet metal...

Re: Loose Deep Valve Seats

Maybe drill radial holes in the seat and pin them?
Most modern cars have aluminum heads and I don't hear about seat issues with them. Even in ones the owners try to run air cooled.

Re: Loose Deep Valve Seats

I'll bet the extra heat radiated by the larger surface area on a 140 exhaust log isn't enough for any of us mortals to measure but the increased power from the larger valves is very noticeable. I'm sure someone here has dyno charts. I've seen them but that was on the other forum. All other things be...

It is just air and fuel passages. You can spray carb cleaner in and blow them out with compressed air.

Re: Oil Pressure Issue at startup

If the spring is in good shape stretching it will not help low rpm oil pressure but if the spring is too short stretching it will fix low rpm oil pressure. I added a ball to one and it fixed low oil pressure at idle. I'm guessing the spring was too short to keep the valve closed at idle but I didn't...
