Re: Fuel Leak -- I can't find source

Thanks. Then why do you think I can't seem to locate the leak when revving the engine? It seems only to leak when driving. What do you think I'm missing? Marcus

Re: Fuel Leak -- I can't find source

thanks guys. This is super helpful. It looks like it's leaking from where the fuel pump actually sits on top of the housing. When I installed it the last time, I snugged the bolt by hand and made sure it was seated properly. It's still sung but doesn't appear to be overtightened. Any idea why it ...

Fuel Leak -- I can't find source

Guys,

I am banging my head trying to find the source of a fuel leak in my 1964 Monza. Any ideas? I've searched the forum and found related topics but nothing with this specific problem....

I've been through 10 fuel pumps in the last 4 years, and finally got one that works reliably, and has now ...

Re: Quick fuel pump question

Brad, thank you for your detailed reply. I'm moving rapidly toward your electric fuel pump solution. It seems Clarks has all of the supplies needed in stock to do this-- they suggest two types of shutoff switches in the install here: https://ssl.corvair.com/user-cgi/catalog.cgi?show_page=66 . Is ...

Specific Wheel Covers for 1964

All - I'm in the process of restoring a 1964 Monza Convertible for my mother to make it as much like my her first car (see photo below). However, I'm trying to locate the wheel covers that hers came with from the factory. I seem to be able to find some similar ones available, but they seem to have a ...

Re: Chrome nipple on side of bucket seat.

BTW the claw hammer worked beautifully. The new seat wasn’t adjustable (old one was) so I had to also change the mounts and cut a hole in the Side of the seat bottom for the lever, but all installed well and looks/works beautifully. I did damage the chrome nipple slightly but it went back on and ...

Re: Chrome nipple on side of bucket seat.

All - I needed new seat bottoms for my front bucket seats and scored very good originals. I've got the seats out of the car, but can't get the seat back detached from the bottom. Really? A claw hammer is needed to get the chrome nipple off so I can detach the bucket seat back? I've tried one with ...

Re: Strange Fuel Gauge Issue

So I pulled everything apart this weekend and tested the gauge by connecting the housing to the chassis (while the key was "on") as you suggested, but no change; it operated the same way. Interestingly, in a lot of "offs and ons" while diagnosing this, I've noticed that the gauge doesn't return to ...

Re: Strange Fuel Gauge Issue

Brodie, on a subsequent read, I think there's a typo on your response: "The coil on the F side is grounded via the fuel gauge housing to the instrument panel and to chassis ground. The coil on the F side is grounded through the gauge sending unit at the fuel tank." - To clarify you mean "The coil on ...

Strange Fuel Gauge Issue

Guys,
I've searched through the forum to try to find this specific problem. If someone has already posted an answer to this and I've missed it, I'd appreciate a link to it. If not, here goes....

We replaced both the fuel gauge and fuel sending unit in April. The gauge has been operating perfectly ...
