Re: The Age old Early Model wheel Question

That's not true. The wheels on the front of my car are 16x7 (total width is 8") and the offset is +30, which means that more of the wheel is inside the car and less is out towards the fender. I have 205 50 16s on them. If those wheels were 0 offset they wouldn't clear the fender at all, the fender w...

Re: The Age old Early Model wheel Question

I wanted to chime in on the wheel conversation with just a couple of details. First, backspacing and offset can be confusing, especially with wheels that aren't steel. Typically aluminum wheel width is measured from the tire mounting surface, so a 7" wheel is really 8" wide. That's why you'll see 7"...

Re: ENTER - Corvair of the Month August 2019

I love having a driver and not having to worry about keeping it perfect. I'm no wheel expert, but I did do a lot of research before I chose mine. I'll be happy to help when you're ready Doug!

Re: ENTER - Corvair of the Month August 2019

Thanks Scott! We took it for a spin this weekend to a drive in for lunch, and then to an ice cream joint for some dessert. Lots of people liked the car and I also got the same question that I almost always get. "When are you going to finish it?" I always tell them that it is done, but they always lo...

Re: ENTER - Corvair of the Month August 2019

I'd like to be considered for the Corvair of the Month for August. We bought this car a couple of years ago and towed it home. I wanted a white convertible, and my wife wanted the turquoise interior. We drove it the first summer we had it and then I took it apart to upgrade the suspension and brakes...

Re: Finally fitted my led headlamps. What do you guys think?

I've been looking at those too, and I think they look great! And you can see at night now? I'm sold, I'm going to order some like those soon. Did you install a relay or check the voltage to them? I'm also curious about your wheels, can you tell me the size and backspacing? I'd love to see a straight...

Re: em 4 lug to 5 lug swap

Jeff, what brackets and calipers did you use on the rear disc brake swap? can you post some pics of that?
