Re: Head exchange question
Many thanks... that was the info I wanted... Since I got the 140 heads with a NON-running 140 motor I should have most all the extra parts.... However the Head swap was only to look a bit better at local cruse-ins & future plans are to give the car to my grandson in a couple years for him to sell or ...

(still looking for some parts there) Body & Paint nearly done, interior as well (dash still needs work but headliner, carpets, seats ...

Re: 8 door stolen in SoCal
Not a Corvair but my family knows your pain.. I hope you recover yours in better shape than we did (before and after recovery picts below) .. I can't help but wonder if a "lo-jack" or similar vehicle locater wouldn't have been a good investment.. I know I plan one for my '65 Monza....

Re: Lace Painting and Lowering
Try fair amount of starch on the lace... apply while damp, not wet then wait until dry before painting.. what I use to do in the '60's

dual master cyl and disks on a '65 A/C car
I'd like to add dual master cylinder & front disks to my '65 Monza.. however the Clarks kit says "Does not fit 65-66 with A/C" (and mine IS a factory A/C car) ... what experience I have with cars is nearly all body and paint work.. so I'm hoping someone here will be able to tell me how to work ...

Re: My '65 Monza build and mods
Relatives from out of town is my excuse for slow reply.. lol. when finished simple "L' brackets as I plan to carpet most of the console (except the top). I'm working on extending the one I bought all the way forward and adding speakers on the sides, GPS and satellite radio control along with a ...

Re: My '65 Monza build and mods

Re: Random Guy Poll
Went on a "test drive" today and had a failure (broken shaft in distributor I think). Anyway, when I called AAA to bring her home, first person I talked to said, "never heard of them, what kind of car is it again?" . After I told him it was a 50year old Chevrolet he transferred me to another person ...

Re: front coil springs
Disappointing, I was about to "spring" (pun intended) for a set of the HD springs from Clarks to lower my '65 Monza an inch (or2)... I've never cut coil springs and don't want to make my Vair "non op" if I did and screwed up the job. Does ANYONE sell spring sets to lower Vairs that work?

Re: bench seat
I realize this is a months old thread, but IF you are interested the '65 Monza I recently purchased had a bench seat (non standard) probably out of another early '70's GM. I have since installed bucket seats and anyone interested could HAVE this bench seat. I Will NOT try to ship it anywhere, but ...

Lota fine photo's of members Corvair's ... I wonder what other cars are in Corvair owners driveways and garages? here are some of mine.. VW powered buggy, '90 Jeep, '06 Dodge Magnum Wagon. (the Dodge satisfies my need for HORSEPOWER, a bit over 600 at the flywheel with Pro-Charger Supercharger ...
