In my experience no, but I do see people out there claiming they have V8 Vairs with rear radiators that work for them. I also find people who claim their 18" rims and tires don't rub on their lowed cars but the cuts I see in the sidewalls says otherwise. ::-):

The other 3.8 swaps are transverse setups, and I see the '85 is a longitudinal setup like the earlier Rivieras.
That will affect things a bit.

It is not so much about how low, well this about lowering my transaxle to get a lower center of G and in doing that
By an inch or two , effectively changes the angle and to some degree the amount of suspension travel.
