I found a trick that's works great. remove the 2 middle spines from a fork. Yep silverware. I had to flatten it with a hammer but it work great.

Say no to the rattle can. While you can have rattle can catalyzed paint made, they run $20 + per can. Whatever catalyzed primer you use, it should have a tech sheet to tell you what size scratch (from sand paper) the primer will fill. Some will fill 80 grit and most will need to be taken farther. I'll save what ever I salvage. While I was replacing the stock oil pan with a thicker, deeper, finned aluminum pan, I removed what appears to be an oil heater.

Stopped by Jim Brandberg's shop and picked up some new and used parts to get the Corvair purring. Great guy, very knowledgeable and had some nice parts on hand. Oh and the prices were great.

I've used dupli-color vinyl and fabric before. It works great for dashes and other solid surfaces but the seats, carpet, door panels and headliner will be new upholstery. I'm thinking black. The car will be white.
