Thanks I am really not looking forward to removing the A/C just for a couple of hole and your right about ease of removal although I hope it never ever has to come out of the car. This "THING" does not want to see the light of day it likes taking up space in my shop
Thanks again

EM carpet install on factory A/C car
Has anyone installed carpeting in a factory A/C equipped early model coupe? I ordered some nice looking carpet from stockinteriors.com I've used their stuff many times in the past but never on a Corvair. Truth be told never done much of anything on a Corvair until recently. So my first pitfall was ...

Re: Interior color change
Well I did the headliner with SEM's bright white, they didn't advise using any primer or prep other then a good cleaning and although the coverage was pretty good you still see a blueish tint. I attribute that to having to spray the dye upside down which we all know how easy that isn't. I would have ...

Looking to see what you guys use for radios in your Corvair's. I really am against hacking up the dash of any car but like all the modern do-dad's CD's Mp3 etc. so what are you all using?

Re: Yenko exhaust
Brad, yes they explain everything I needed to know. I found plenty of pics of the rear end of the car but none of the headers ah ha! now to see if my parts guy can locate me a pair of headers but more likely then not I am just going to use straight tailpipes off my turbo mufflers.

Yenko exhaust
Does anyone have a pic or diagram for the Stinger's dual exhaust? I am trying to replicate wheat they had where exits through the rear valance panel. I wanted to see if they ran straight pipe or had sort of an "S" bend turn tailpipe
Thanks
Thanks

Restoring the wife's 63 Monza
IMG119.jpg IMG553.jpg Well against my better judgement my wife bough the first car she went to look at which is never a good thing but my bad for not trying to steer her away from it. Mechanically its in pretty fair shape and the former owner did a lot of work on it. not all done exactly right but ...

http://i538.photobucket.com/albums/ff345/MsMinx08/Smilies/congrats.gif Sometimes it's the simple things... your description of the symptoms certainly helped to narrow it down. When you stated that you were getting a good spark from the coil wire but nothing from the number 1 spark plug that only ...

DEFECTIVE IGNITION ROTOR :tu: I am happy and confused at the same time, I honestly can't ever recall having a defective rotor before not saying it doesn't happen but maybe I was just lucky up until now that is.... :rolling: popped the new rotor in held #1 wire to ground saw a small spark pulled all ...

Re: Weak spark at the points and I am officaly out of ideas
NOTE: At the connector that goes into the firewall I found a bad connection on the yellow wire, repaired it but still nothing. [/color][/b] Ok this is the connector that the resistor wire should be hooked up to and isn't, back at it today in a little while but I believe I've narrowed it down to the ...

Re: Weak spark at the points and I am officaly out of ideas
I'm not sure what wiring modifications were done by a previous owner in the passenger compartment. There are only two brown wires entering the engine compartment. The thicker brown wire does not connect to the 10-pin connector. Instead, it connects directly to the heater blower fan and comes from ...

Re: Weak spark at the points and I am officaly out of ideas
I think you are right. As you can see in the wiring diagram there is only supposed to be a single B/Y wire connecting the positive coil terminal to the two-pin connector that ties to the starter solenoid. A second shorter 20 B/P wire is supposed to be spliced at this same two-pin connector to ...
